How to become a member

Apply for membership here. You submit your application by signing with BankID or Freja eID. If you do not have an e-ID, you can choose to have your completed application sent to you by post. Then sign the application and send it to us.

How much does the membership cost?

You can read about the membership fee under Membership. The easiest way to pay the fee is by direct debit - the money is automatically deducted from your account each month.

Do you need an interpreter?

Feel free to start by asking someone you know for help if you have difficulty understanding our information. If this is not possible, we can arrange an interpreter for you free of charge. Get in touch with us and we will help you.

If you become unemployed

Who can receive compensation?

You must be a member of the unemployment insurance fund, have reached the age of 20 and have had a certain income before becoming unemployed.

How much compensation can you get?

It depends on how long you have been a member of the unemployment fund. The longer you have been a member, the higher the compensation will be. You can receive 80, 60 or 50 percent of your previous average income. During the compensation period, the allowance is gradually reduced.

How long can you get compensation?

It depends on how long you have had an income before unemployment. You can receive compensation for a maximum of 300 days.

How do you apply for compensation?

Register with the Swedish Public Employment Service on your first day of unemployment. Then log in to My Pages on byggnadsakassa.se. You can find more information on how to apply for compensation on My Pages.
